Are you ready for this?

It’s the title to the song and question asked every year when initiating our summer camp, TOUCHDOWN, sponsored by Verbo Christian Family and Project Lost Sheep.

An excellent group of volunteers has gathered the last 6 years at the Verbo Church location to bring joy, love and the word of God to kids in the Fair Oaks community located in Redwood City, California.

The camp is one week long (Monday-Friday) and the hours are from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Some of the activities the kids enjoy are playing sports, dancing and working with arts and crafts. Our groups of volunteers make this camp fun by creating games, dramas and conclude the camp with a big party where all the parents are cordially invited as the guests of honor.

This year we had our fifth camp and we believe we made a difference in the life of a child. We assure you… it is definitely worth it!!!

TOUCHDOWN CAMP [History]

Project Lost Sheep has been accepted under Verbo Ministries, Redwood City. there had been a few pilot programs. We helped with larger backpack event several times and we provided gifts for kids for the end of the year celebration held at Verbo Church. Both Patty Cardona, pastor's wife, and Joyce Dueker, president of Project Lost Sheep desired to do something more.

While on retreat a vision of a football field was given to Joyce who in prayer took the Touchdown by faith for Redwood City.

Shorthly after that a friend came to Joyce with a question: If you had extra money this summer what would you do?, Joyce answered "Have camp for children in Redwood City".

Joyce and Patty met. People from Verbo Ministries came to meeting and we set up the program for camp. The first Touchdown Camp took placein summer of 2005 at Verbo Church in Redwood City. God provided everything we needed and we saw the children blessed.
